Health system adds two members to its board

NEW HAVEN — At its annual meeting on Oct. 26, Yale New Haven Health System elected two new members to its board. They are Mary C. Farrell of Madison and Stuart, Fla.; and Thomas B. Ketchum of Greenwich.

Mary Farrell, who has more than 35 years of experience as an investment analyst and strategist, is a consultant in the financial services industry. She was formerly with UBS where she served as a managing director, chief investment strategist for UBS Wealth Management USA and co-head of the UBS Wealth Management investment strategy and research group. A frequent lecturer, she was a regular panelist on Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser, and was elected to its Hall of Fame in 1995. Farrell is on the boards of the W.R. Berkley Corporation, New York University Stern School of Business and the Gilman Foundation. She received her undergraduate degree from Manhattanville College and her M.B.A. from New York University’s Stern Business School.

Thomas B. Ketchum is retired as vice chair of J.P. Morgan Chase & Company, having held several positions with the firm in the U.S. and abroad, including assignments in the U.K., Hong Kong and Belgium. In addition to serving as vice chair, he served on the firm’s executive committee and chaired its technology council. He was chief administrative officer and chief financial officer of J.P. Morgan prior to its merger with Chase Manhattan Corporation in 2000. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale. He is a member of the executive committee of the Yale Capital Campaign, the President’s Council on International Activities and the board of the Yale Hockey Association.

Ketchum is active in the Greenwich community, including with the Greenwich Day School and Greenwich Skating Club. He also serves as a director of Zaplet, Inc., an internet start-up company.

"We are pleased to welcome Mary Farrell and Tom Ketchum to the board of directors of the Yale New Haven System. Their skills and experience will be enormously supportive of the mission of the Yale New Haven Health System and its member delivery networks." said YNHHS President and CEO Marna P. Borgstrom.
