The hospital offers an extensive range of support groups and wellness and prevention programs through its community outreach arm, Greenwich Health at Greenwich Hospital. Greenwich Hospital is about to complete a major, multi-year modernization project. Its state-of-the-art medical building, which opened in 1999, has a general/specialty surgery unit, orthopedic/neuroscience unit, women's/infant center, pediatric unit, medical/surgical intensive care unit, diagnostic center, ambulatory surgery unit, surgery center and emergency center. Construction on a new wing, the Olive and Thomas J. Watson Pavilion, is scheduled for completion in fall 2005. It will house additional inpatient rooms, an outpatient clinic and many other services, including physical therapy, addiction recovery, sleep center, and a geriatric program. The pavilion will also be home to conference facilities, a medical library and administrative offices.
