Marna P. Borgstrom
President and CEO, YNHHS
President and CEO, Yale-New Haven Hospital
Mrs. Borgstrom holds a Master of Public Health degree in hospital administration from the Yale University School of Medicine and has been at Yale-New Haven Hospital since 1979 where she has held positions of increasing responsibility. She was appointed to her current position in 2005. She is an officer of the board and executive committee member of the Connecticut Hospital Association and a member of the board of the University Hospitals Consortium. Mrs. Borgstrom also serves as a member of the board and treasurer of The Country School, a private day school in Madison, Conn.
Richard D'Aquila
Executive Vice President, YNHHS
Executive Vice President and COO, Yale-New Haven Hospital Mr. D'Aquila received his graduate degree in hospital administration from the Yale University School of Medicine and his bachelor’s degree in economics from Central Connecticut State University.
Before joining Yale-New Haven Hospital in 2006, he was a senior vice president and chief operating officer of New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Previously, D’Aquila was executive vice president and chief operating officer at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport.
Frank A. Corvino

President and CEO, Greenwich Hospital and the Greenwich Health Care System
Mr. Corvino holds a master's degree from St. John's University and was appointed to his present position in 1991. Prior to joining Greenwich Hospital in 1988 as COO, he was executive vice president of Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in New York City. Mr. Corvino has served on many boards, including United Way of Greenwich, Stamford and Greenwich Emergency Medical Services and the Connecticut Hospital Association.
Robert J. Trefry

President and CEO, Bridgeport Hospital and Southern Connecticut Health System
Mr. Trefry earned a Master of Arts degree in health care administration from George Washington University. He was appointed to his present position in 1994. Previously, he served as executive vice president and COO of the Carle Foundation in Urbana, Ill. Mr. Trefry is active on many boards, including the Bridgeport Regional Business Council, the Bridgeport Public Education Fund and the United Way of Eastern Fairfield County.
Gayle L. Capozzalo
Executive VP, Strategy and System Development, YNHHS
Ms. Capozzalo received a Master of Science degree in public health services management from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She joined the system in 1997. Her experience includes senior corporate development and strategic planning positions, most recently with Sisters of Charity Health Care System based in Houston. Ms. Capozzalo is vice chair of the board of directors of the Institute of Healthcare Improvement, a member of the editorial board for Quality Management in Health Care and a fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives.
James M. Staten
Executive VP, Finance and Corporate Services, YNHHS
CFO and Senior VP for Finance, Yale-New Haven Hospital
Mr. Staten is a certified public accountant (CPA) and received a Bachelor of Science degree in business/economics from the State University of New York in Oneonta. Prior to joining the system in 2000, Mr. Staten was a senior vice president in charge of finance for New York Presbyterian Hospital and New York's largest health care system, New York Presbyterian Health Care System. Previously, he served as Ernst & Young's director of New York State Reimbursement Consulting Services and was a partner with Pannell Kerr Forster in the firm's health care management consulting and auditing practices.
Peter N. Herbert, MD
Senior VP for Medical Affairs, YNHHS
Chief of Staff and Senior VP for Medical Affairs, Yale-New Haven Hospital
Dr. Herbert is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Yale University School of Medicine. He completed internship and residency requirements in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven and was chief of the clinical service at the National Heart, Lung & Blood Institute in Bethesda, Md., until 1977, when he became a professor of medicine at Brown University. Since 1991, Dr. Herbert has been a clinical professor of medicine at Yale and until 1999 was chief of medicine at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. He is widely published and is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Physicians (Fellow) and the American Society of Clinical Investigation.
William S. Gedge
Senior VP for Payer Relations, YNHHS
Mr. Gedge holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in biology and sociology with a minor in business administration from Macalester College. He has more than 18 years of progressive managed care experience. Prior to joining the system in 1998, Mr. Gedge served as vice president of payer and provider services for Allina Health System. He is currently an associate editor of Managed Care Quarterly and speaks nationally on managed care issues and their impact on providers.
Mark L. Andersen
Senior VP and Chief Information Officer, YNHHS
Mr. Andersen received a Master of Science degree in hospital administration from The Ohio State University and the Master of Science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Prior to joining the system in 1997, he held a senior systems management position at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City and has experience in the development of multi-hospital systems in several regional and national organizations. Mr. Andersen is a member of the VHA National Information Executive Council and the University Health System Consortium CIO Executive Committee.
Kevin Myatt
Senior VP of Human Resources, YNHHS
Senior VP of Human Resources, Yale-New Haven Hospital
Mr. Myatt earned a B.S. in psychology from Virginia State University and a master’s in
business administration from Arizona State University. He came to Yale-New Haven after five years as associate vice chancellor and chief human resources officer at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Prieviously, he was vice president of human resources for North Carolina Baptist Hospitals of Wake Forest University and Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
David Wurcel
VP for Corporate Business Services, YNHHS
Mr. Wurcel holds an MBA from the State University of New York at Binghamton, as well as a master's degree from the State University of New York at Albany. He joined Yale-New Haven Hospital in 1979 and has held a variety of management positions leading to an administrative appointment in 1984. Mr. Wurcel is a member of Health Financial Management Association and the Connecticut Association of Patient Account Managers. He has published a number of articles on accounts receivable issues
